Some things to do while you're out of the water

  • Rock climbing – Brac is Gaelic for Bluff. The East End of the island offers some very challenging vertical climbs. This is recommended for experts only.
  • Hiking – Even if you are not an expert, you can still enjoy hiking on the island. The Parrot Preserve can be reached from the Bluff Road.
  • Cave exploring – The Brac has many caves. Take time to find Peter’s Cave, Bat Cave, and Rebecca’s Cave.
  • Beachcombing - Most of the footprints you can find on the East End beaches will be your own! Visit the Blow Holes on the South Side, East End.
  • Birdwatching - Prime locations are at the westend in the mangroves and on the bluff along the hiking trail.
  • Drive to the lighthouse on the Bluff for a breathtaking view of the Caribbean.
  • Purchase some of the unusual local veggies and wonderful tropical fruits to complement those meals you prepare at home.
  • Visit with Mr. Tenson Scott at NIM Things for unusual jewelry and local color. Caymanite, a mineral, can only be found in the Cayman Islands.
  • Look for the Green Flash at sunset.
  • Enjoy some of the local cuisine - conch, dolphin (the fish, not flipper), wahoo, yellowfin, or turtle with baked or fried breadfruit or fried plantain (banana), and don’t forget the fresh mangos!
